Job Summary:
Disney Advertising Sales is seeking an experienced, versatile professional to report into Vice President, Entertainment Brand Solutions, National Geographic (NG) in Washington, DC.
Senior Manager, Entertainment Brand Solutions will be responsible for developing smart, strategic National Geographic multiplatform brand solutions both proactively and in response to RFP requests as well as activating sold deals in order to drive revenue for Disney Ad Sales.
Responsibilities:
Manage development of multiplatform National Geographic brand solutions and original custom content deals.
* Develop proactive brand solutions and packages that align with NG editorial and programming efforts
* Field incoming RFP requests, developing smart, strategic solutions in collaboration with NG CreativeWorks
* Create client-facing pitch materials that detail sponsorship opportunities
* Contribute to development of linear solutions/sponsorship strategy. Work closely with Channel, Revenue and Yield Management to identify priorities and package opportunities that drive revenue.
* Build consensus among key stakeholders to obtain approval on the proposed solutions (Management, Legal, S&P, PR, Business Affairs, cross-platform editorial, producers, etc.)
Manage activation process for deals that sell-through inclusive of sponsorships and short and long form custom content deals: timelines, approvals, production shoots, post-production, etc.):
* Serve as lead project manager, enrolling colleagues in CreativeWorks, NG Media Editorial, NGC/WILD Programming, RYM, S&P/Legal, etc. as necessary to ensure alignment and collaboration at critical points
* Coordinate efforts with global NG Partners as relevant
* Lead kick-off and ongoing weekly touchbase calls
* Manage creative approval process
* Manage any/all shoot preparation
* Manage on-set shoots client hosting, problem solving, balance brand and client creative needs etc.
* Responsible for ensuring project elements are delivering across all platforms.
* Oversee all post production to ensure content launches properly
* Oversee related documentation: deal agreement letters, budget management, billing, research, deal recaps, etc.
Develop and implement all linear/D+ in program integrations:
* Proactively and reactively seek out opportunities working with production and development teams
* Present opportunities to DAS sales counterparts and facilitate deal negotiations with production, talent, agency/client, legal
* Lead client kickoff meetings
* Lead any all/shoot preparation
* Drive creative approval process
Build and maintain strong relationships with National Geographic internal stakeholders and DAS cross-portfolio partners through frequent collaboration (e.g., Social, Marketing, Legal, S&P, Programming, PR, Sales, etc.):
* Serve as a National Geographic brand champion and multi-platform content expert for external partners and internal Disney Ad Sales cross-portfolio colleagues
* Serve as a strategic partner to Brand Connect, incorporating their feedback into packages, vetting proposed elements with editorial implications, and providing timely responses to questions as they customize Nat Geo solutions for specific DAS clients
* Collaborate with Sales Comm on development of National Geographic/Nat Geo WILD/Nat Geo Mundo brand materials related to Upfront (e.g. network overviews, show descriptions, programming calendars, etc.) and brand materials
Basic Qualifications:
* 8+ years of television and/or digital marketing, sponsorship, promotion, branded entertainment and/or media at a network, cable, promotional/media agency or entertainment studio.
* Strong interpersonal skills (especially in high stress environments)
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to translate verbal ideas into written presentations
* Highly organized
* Ability to keep abreast of digital/social industry innovations, bringing new opportunities forward to help maintain Nat Geo/DAS competitive edge in the marketplace
* Self-motivated and proactive and flexible
* Expertise in project management/execution with multi-tasking abilities, attention to detail and creative problem-solving skills
* Proven experience with sponsored social activations (across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram)
* Proven team player with the desire to do whatever it takes and thrives in a team culture
* Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, mornings, weekends and/or occasional travel
* Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment
* Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point, Keynote, Google Docs/Sheets
* Experience with deck creation through Powerpoint and Keynote
