Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Director of Procurement, you will provide leadership in the Core Vegetable (green beans, corn, carrots, and peas) Category for Conagra Brands. You will implement Conagra's sourcing strategy in the Core Vegetable space for several of our largest brands including Birds Eye. You will also works with R&D, Ag Ops, Plant Operations, Brand, Demand & Supply Planning, Warehousing, Transportation and other internal partners to implement the vegetable strategy. We ask that you understand the IQF vegetable market, agricultural operations, positions management and leadership. You will also manage direct responsibilities and lead a team through their own category responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities

* Manage categories as assigned and manage direct reports and their categories
* Jointly build sourcing strategies in the assigned categories in collaboration with essential functions across the organization
* Establish strategic relationships with the supply base, to achieve cost savings opportunities across the business.
* Negotiate, contract, and implement preferred supplier agreements.
* Lead teams in sourcing projects
* Research market dynamics, cost drivers, supplier business models, and historical spend to enhance future negotiations for assigned categories
* Provide clear position reporting and allow ease of use of volume estimates
* Draft Requests for Information (RFI), Requests for Proposal (RFP), and conduct associated analysis
* Ensure the service and quality requirements of ConAgra Brands are met, along with the required innovation and product improvements
* Work with Operations and Brands to resolve all supply chain issues
* Promote cost savings through continuous improvement activities
* Manage supplier relationships and track Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to evaluate and report performance.
* Ensure continuity of services for assigned categories by working suppliers and managing supplier performance
* Understand advanced sourcing practices and their application
* Provide organizational leadership developing new approaches to technology
* Maintain positive, productive relationships with different suppliers and operating company personnel
* Implement supplier strategy using industry modeling and appropriate metrics across Conagra Brands

Position Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree
* 5+ years experience in Procurement or related field
* Experience with procurement/strategic sourcing end-user expectations and requirements
* Experience implementing complex projects
* Microsoft Office, Internet, and ERP systems
* Experience leading a diverse group forward
* Experience managing conflict able to work in a matrixed environment
* SAP, Right Angle, Excel (can maintain complex spreadsheets), Word, PowerPoint, and Access
