The Boeing Company is currently in search of a Site Service Mechanic in support of Boeings corporate division in Palmdale, CA.

Site Service Mechanics maintain, repair and overhaul non-production equipment and components to include; sheet metal parts, assemblies, machine tools, fabricating machines, welding and HVAC equipment.

Specific to this position, candidates will also be involved in fuel farm operations, performing the fueling and de-fueling of various aircraft.

Position Duties:

* Read and interpret information from engineering orders, drawings and blueprints.
* Sketch parts and perform mathematical calculations and taking measurements directly from machine or part.
* Plan pipe routings of plumbing fixtures, connections, and accessory equipment and installation hardware. Determine size, type, and amount of pipe, connections, and other materials based on pressure, volume, gradient, and piped substance requirements.
* Repair, replace, and install internal mechanical parts. Charge systems with refrigerant and test system for leaks and proper operation. Rebuild, overhaul, tune-up internal combustion engines.
* Adjust wheels for caster, camber, toe in and toe out, repair, replace or adjust suspension and braking systems.
* Calculate angles, dimensions, and bend allowances using shop mathematics, geometric and trigonometric formulas, charts, and tables. Setup and operate hand and power sheet metal fabrication tools and machines refinish damaged or repaired surfaces by brush or spray painting.
* Using precision measuring instruments check proper functioning of machines after repair, maintenance or installation setting up and operating for testing purposes.
* Provide worksite with conditioned air to control filtration, temperature, humidity and static pressure. Provide comprehensive and efficient service, maintenance diagnostics, and repair/adjustments of air conditioning, heating, and refrigeration units and equipment.
* Administer appropriate amount of chemicals to perform preventative maintenance on environmental/hazardous waste disposal systems. Set up equipment and transfer chemicals from tanks to containers following safety requirements.
* Manually or with the aid of a computer or computer-based system, maintain records, statistics and other data as it related to the maintenance of factory equipment, fabrication, plumbing maintenance, and assembly data.
* Supports or performs tasking for Quality Control activities with sampling and testing of products for quality control. Perform inspections and supports required maintenance on facility fuel systems and fueling vehicles.

This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.

Basic Qualifications:

* 3+ years of Facilities Maintenance experience.
* 3+ years of Flight Operations Services experience.

Additional Qualifications:

* Familiar with Commercial/Military Aviation fuel management, storage and testing requirements IAW ATA 103 and USAF Technical Order 43B-1-1.
* Familiar with aviation fuel truck maintenance and operation. Example, USAF R-11, Rampmaster and Garsite brand vehicles.
* Familiar with aviation fuel storage systems such as above large scale above ground storage tanks, fuel pumps, filters and piping/valve systems.
* Must possess good computer and software skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite, Email and a variety of Boeing software applications used to manage and operate the fuel storage and dispensing systems.
* Must possess good basic mathematics skills.
* Pass physical requirements (with no limitations) associated with handling, testing and managing fuel and their storage and delivery systems. This requires the ability to pass an eye and color blindness test and able to lift 35 Lbs. Ability to work from heights up to 20 ft. Able to work in a confined space environment and wear a respirator mask.
* Able to work odd shifts, holidays and overtime to support flight test programs as needed.
* Must possess a valid state drivers license and able to pass the USAF Controlled Movement Airfield driving written and practical exam.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Active US Security Clearance.
* USAF Controlled Movement Airfield driving certification.

Additional Information:

* This is an hourly position governed by a Collective Bargaining agreement.
* Relocation assistance is not a negotiable benefit for this position. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
