Ashland has an exciting opportunity for a Global Marketing Communications Manager to join our Ashland LLC business at our Wilmington, DE location. This is a very visible, significant role within the Company and the Communications function. This position will report to Ashlands Senior Director, Global Corporate Affairs, Marketing, Brand and Business Communications.

The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Develop and manage proactive external and internal marketing communications for Ashlands Life Sciences business unit with a primary focus on pharmaceutical, nutrition and nutraceuticals.
* Together with regional communications team members, develop the calendar for management and execution of all Life Sciences business unit exhibitions, events, digital programs (including webinars, e-marketing campaigns), literature, webpages, advertising and more, also in coordination with various multinational business teams / members.
* Manage media relations for Life Sciences, partnering with Regional and Corporate Communications to identify opportunities. Draft press releases, manage the approval of materials and distribution. Execute news bureau and thought leadership activities partnering with communications colleagues and business leaders.
* Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with direct manager, communications team members, and leaders within Life Sciences and ensure alignment of the Life Sciences communications strategy with corporate communications, brand standards and business strategies and priorities.
* Assist in the development and day-to-day management the global communications budget for Life Sciences. Manage the monthly forecasting and reconciliation of the budget.
* Serve as trusted advisor and thought partner to Life Sciences business leaders on communications best practices.
* Coordinate the development of printed and digital marketing materials including newsletters, technical literature, presentations, direct mail, press releases and advertising.
* Collaborate with Corporate Communications on enterprise-wide programs and initiatives, such as the companys internet/intranet sites, corporate branding campaigns, digital and social media activity, internal or external news coverage, etc.
* Support internal / employee communications as needed, including coordination of Life Sciences content for use in corporate communications including content for Ashlands intranet site.
* Up to 20% travel (post-COVID) may be required.

In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:

* Bachelors degree in Communications, Journalism, or related field (MBA or masters degree in related field is desirable).
* At least 12 years of marketing communications experience in a large international (Fortune 500) company with experience working in a complex and matrixed operating environment.
* Strong digital marketing communications experience and demonstrated ability to incorporate digital initiatives as part of larger integrated marketing communications programs; conceive and execute digital and social strategies and measure their impact and effectiveness. Knowledge of digital communications (Pardot, salesforce.com, Google analytics) as well as experience analyzing data and reporting results.
* Impeccable writing and storytelling skills with a solid understanding of Associated Press style.
* Hands on mentality. Must understand the balance between global direction and local execution and how to make things happen with executives, team members and agencies in multiple locations around the world.
* Experience providing direction/briefs for agencies and managing agency relationships and global communications budgets

The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:

* Chemical industry and/or pharmaceutical, nutrition / nutraceuticals / personal care / household, consumer, experience is preferred.
* Crisis communications / issues management experience.
* Six Sigma certified
