How? Become a Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer at Abbott Puerto Rico.

As Senior Manufacturing Process Engineer you will perform a variety of engineering assignments to meet quality standards in the most cost efficient manner. May supervise and provide technical assistance to exempt and non-exempt personnel. Will work closely with Manufacturing, engineering and quality departments and have responsibility for products from initial concept progressing to design and development and continuing through production. In addition responsible of manufacturing processes improvements in conjunction with headquarters as required. Coordinate with internal/external customers the development and implementation of improvement projects. Manage projects to meet operating expectations and completion within authorized budgets and schedule constraints.

HOW WILL YOU MAKE A DIFFERENCE?

* Lead new product introductions per schedule and ensure a smooth transition into manufacturing while meeting established operational, quality, cost, service and safety metrics.
* Conduct equipment and process validation on internally designed and constructed automated manufacturing equipments.
* Use continuous improvement methods to identify and implement product and process improvements projects in manufacturing to make products and process more capable and predictable to while achieving improvements in quality, cost, service and safety.
* Coordinate and communicate assigned projects and their status with the appropriate personnel and departments. Establish realistic plans and set short term and long term goals. Develop contingency plans.
* Perform benchmarking, to identify best suitable technologies and systems for equipment, tools and fixtures for new or existing product or process changes. Responsible for capital expenditure request writing, technical documentation and training.
* Develop and implement processes for pilot production and scale up program.
* Reduce product risk and costs by developing new equipment/processes.
* Provide tactical direction to other engineers and technicians.
* Accountable for the direct supervision of engineers and/or engineering technicians & their professional development. Accountable for projects cost and financial analysis.
* Ensure compliance with all Abbott procedures and all applicable regulatory agency requirements.
* Lead new product introductions per schedule and ensure a smooth transition into manufacturing while meeting established operational, quality, cost, service and safety metrics.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following qualifications:

* Bachelor degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial preferred). EIT or PE license is a plus.
* 5+ years of experience in similar role.
* Knowledge of FDA, GMP, and ISO guidelines is required.
* Strong statistical techniques knowledge (DOE, SPC) is required.
* Strong computer software knowledge (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point).
* Bilingual. Effective communication and presentation skills both in Spanish and English are required.
* Willing to travel and work under pressure.
