Plant HR Manager
JOB SUMMARY:
Manages Human Resources department, overseeing administration of all People strategies. Responsibilities include managing leadership development strategies, staffing, employee engagement, employee & union relations, compliance, compensation, training & development, and employee health & wellness .
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Lead and facilitate key initiatives that support the plant through a participative work structure, delivering high employee engagement
* Lead extensive talent management strategy at all levels to ensure effective alignment to achieving culture and operational targets
* Deliver flawless HR operational programs & procedures with continuous improvement mindset to improve efficiencies, controls & data analytics
* Lead all labor relations activities for the Flint Plant
* Provide strategic HR & work environment solutions to Plant Leadership team
* Analyze HR metrics and create and implement action plans based on those metrics in line with the Function and/or business objectives
* Ensure facility compliance with governmental regulations, such as: Affirmative Action Plan (AAP), Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), etc.
* Serve as a coach to key leadership to drive a culture of engagement and continuous improvement
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Develops and administers various strategic People development plans and procedures
* Plans, organizes, and controls all activities of the department; Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems
* Develops, recommends, and implements personnel policies and procedures; performs benefits administration to include claims resolution
* Leads employee engagement intiative through delivering high impact programs and procedures resulting in increaed autonomy, role clarity, empowerment and recognition
* Manages all labor/union relations activity
* Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees
* Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participate in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars; Maintains company organization charts and employee directory
* Evaluates reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed
* Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
* Responsible for center wide human resources planning and development
* Provides functional guidance for administrative support needs
* Coaching/Facilitation/Conflict Management skills
* Knowledge of HR compliance and legal issues
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelors degree in Human Resources or related field, Masters degree a plus.
* 7 + years of experience in a progressive human resources role
* Experience working in a union environment in manufacturing
* Demonstrated management and organizational skill
* Previous experience managing a large manufacturing site
* Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred
