Our facility in Santa Cruz, CA seeks an entry level Traffic Administrator to join our mission. If you enjoy the outdoors, this is an opportunity to work in a remote part of the Bay Area that offers views of the ocean while working amongst the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains Redwoods and the abundant wildlife that finds our Santa Cruz site home along with our employees who work here. As our site Traffic Administrator, you will be responsible for planning, scheduling, and routing inbound/outbound domestic and international shipments of freight, using knowledge of US and International regulations, tariffs, and company policy via multiple shipping modes (air freight, LTL, truckload, vessel, etc.). Additionally, youll coordinate with carriers, audit freight bills, prepare and negotiate claims, and select/recommend carriers to ensure efficient, timely, cost-effective, and low risk movement of hardware and material.

Summary of Key Duties: In this role you will.

Create government bills of lading and air bills using government online web tools to support the shipment/movement of materials against DD1149s

Be responsible for monitoring the inventory levels and ordering commercial and mil-spec supplies to support pack and ship operations

Track and monitor the dollars spent on pack and ship supplies

Provide a detailed monthly status of the non-labor budget

Provide support to the primary shipping floor operational workflow and provide hazardous material classification, marking, labeling, packing instructions and shipping paper certifications as required

Provide activity reports on a weekly basis and process metrics on a monthly basis

Support the overall direction, organization, and prioritization of pack and ship operations including verification of the hardware/items being shipped, compliance with command media, and job assignments

Need to be willing to work outside normal business hours, including weekends

Basic Qualifications:
Industry experience with Shipping and Traffic related practices and standards

Familiar with the hazardous material regulations for air and ground transport and possess a basic understanding of import/export regulations

Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, & Project

Must be a United States citizen and be able to obtain a government security clearance at the Secret level
Desired Skills:
Possess current 49 CFR and ICAO/IATA hazardous material training certifications

Possess or be able to obtain a DOD or SCI security clearance from the United States Government

Possess inventory management skills and knowledge of a purchasing and reconciliation process

Possess the ability to develop presentations suitable for executive leadership

Knowledge of the SAP/ERP systems utilized in LM Space is a plus

Experience with military specification packaging supplies and modes of transportation a plus

Ability to collaborate with commercial and government programs and develop cost effective solutions and options to meet the programs transportation requirements

Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of personnel and management

Persuasive communications skills and the ability to work without supervision are skills that are required for proficiency in this position
