Northrop Grumman 39;s Manufacturing Operations Engineering organization is seeking a Manufacturing Equipment Process Engineer. This position is located in Linthicum, Maryland.

We are looking for a highly motivated individual with electrical, mechanical and troubleshooting experience to lead the Electro/Mechanical Maintenance effort. The candidate will need to leverage prior hands on experience in the repair and maintenance of highly complex equipment, machines, and systems in a multi-disciplined team environment in an automated manufacturing arena.

The Manufacturing Equipment Process Engineer responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the tasks outlined below:

**Apply extensive technical expertise, and full knowledge to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues on process equipment related to machine downtime
**Solve technical problems with equipment failures and drive the issue to Root Cause and Corrective Action
**Design and solve technical equipment uptime issues while creating strategies to address Mean Time to Repair and Mean Time Between Failures challenges
**Document team rsquo;s work by leveraging methods based on defined task, vendor documentation, and lessons learned efforts
**Communicate effectively and clearly, present technical approaches and findings
**Work directly with suppliers on support, spare parts, capital purchases and equipment tools
**Understand vendor technical information and create internal training
**Document and track technical and maintained task including tickets and repair status
**Plan and schedule complex technical effort and work with both internal and external teams
**Collaborate with outside contractors and equipment vendors to resolve issues
**Understand Purchase Orders (PO), Statements of Work (SoW) and overall terms of a vendor related support plan to optimize equipment and area availability

This req may be filled as a Principal Engineer or a Senior Principal Engineer based on the qualifications below.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Manufacturing Process Engineer:
**Bachelor rsquo;s degree and 5 years of relevant experience (or 3 years with an MS); candidates with an AA degree and 7 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma and 9 years will be considered.
**Thorough knowledge of troubleshooting and maintenance tasks of Commercial Off the Shelf (CoTs) process equipment, Electro/mechanical systems, or Micro-process based control instruments
**Understanding of Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) with a focus to address equipment availability and system uptime
**Able to plan, document and define methods and processes to repair and solve equipment problems to optimize process availability
**Hands on equipment process and repair experience
**Knowledge of 6 sigma practices for troubleshooting, development and control

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Manufacturing Process Engineer:
**Bachelor rsquo;s degree and 9 years of relevant experience (or 7 years with an MS); candidates with an AA degree and 11 years of relevant experience or a high school diploma and 13 years will be considered.
**Thorough knowledge of troubleshooting and maintenance tasks of Commercial Off the Shelf (CoTs) process equipment, Electro/mechanical systems, or Micro-process based control instruments
**Understanding of Mean Time to Repair (MTTR) and Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) with a focus to address equipment availability and system uptime
**Able to plan, document and define methods and processes to repair and solve equipment problems to optimize process availability
**Hands on equipment process and repair experience
**Knowledge of 6 sigma practices for troubleshooting, development and control

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these desired skills will be given preferential consideration:
**Bachelor of Science degree or higher in Engineering or related STEM area
**Knowledge of microelectronics technology and materials
**Familiarity with J-STD and MIL-STD requirements and Space Class hardware requirements
**Proven track record and experience with critical part inventory and vendor support repair and maintenance tasks
**Experience with semiconductor device soldering processes
**Experience with automated pick and place equipment
**Experience with autowirebond or wedgebond equipment
**Experience with automated milling and chip removal equipment
**Experience with laser and ink marking systems
**Experience with multi-axis robots and automation tools
**Experience working in a DoD manufacturing maintenance environment
**Prior experience with Lean Manufacturing and 6-sigma with ability to achieve zero down time
**Experience with Proactive Preventative Maintenance and Calibration planning and execution
**Experience with SAP and shop floor control systems
**Ability to obtain a secret clearance
