Description:
In this role you will be a member of the Virginia Beach Field Repair Facility (FRF)/Technical Support Team and will participate in the installation, test, repair and support of a wide range of electronic equipment and systems. Although most work will be associated with VLS launch and weapons system equipment, the opportunity to support other equipment/systems also exists. You will be responsible for providing installation support of equipment including performing cable/connector fabrication; performing equipment modifications and upgrades; performing equipment/system repair; performing the assembly, integration and test of equipment/systems; and perform daily coordination and communication with the Virginia Beach FRF manager and designated team leads as well as other program and customer representatives (both internal and external to Lockheed Martin). The designated work location will be the Virginia Beach facility, but you must also be able to travel on an as-required basis to provide support onboard ships, submarines or other land based facilities as necessary.
This position requires an active Secret clearance to be considered.

Basic Qualifications:
- High school degree and ten (10) years of relevant experience, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five (5) years of relevant experience, or a master's in a relevant field.
- In-depth understanding of maintenance techniques and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered, with demonstrated experience in the ability to interpret drawings, wiring diagrams and plans. Considerable knowledge of equipment and/or systems software related to defense industry products and standards; knowledge of fiber-optic and multi-pin copper cable termination efforts; candidate must also possess good interpersonal skills (both for written and oral communications); and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.
This position requires an active Secret clearance to be considered.
Desired Skills:
VLS and/or Aegis Combat/Weapon Systems is highly preferred. Specific experience working on the AN/UYQ-70 product line, AN/UYK-43 computers, or other MIL-SPEC and COTS equipment including computers, display systems, communications systems, and peripherals used in surface ship combat systems, Undersea ASW systems, SSN/NSSN/SSBN/SSGN Non-Propulsion Electronic Systems, Radar Systems, or the LCS class of ships is also desired.
