Works closely with Strykers Indirect Procurement Teams, including both Strykers Indirect Procurement Team and Global Category Managers and Strykers Global Quality and Operations Indirect Procurement Team and other business functions relevant to indirect procurement as an advisor and subject matter expert with regard to legal matters associated with indirect procurement with specific emphasis on: (i) managing review and analysis of strategic and cross-divisional indirect procurement contracts; (ii) assuring compliance with indirect procurement processes and alignment with business objectives, including communication between local and commercial business functions and the Indirect Procurement Teams; (iii) working with business clients and relevant stakeholders on the successful integration of Wright Medical contracts and supplier relationships and advising the business on current Wright Medical contract requirements affecting integration; and (iv) providing valuable and timely advice to relevant stakeholders with regard to buy-side procurement contracting.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
* Serve as strategic business partner and advisor to Indirect Procurement Team and divisional and GQO functional leadership.
* Effectively communicate with leadership at all levels of the organization, bringing in feedback and gaining alignment from a wide range of functions.
* Draft, edit, and negotiate contracts and other legal documents and proactively handle various transactional matters related to all areas of indirect procurement contracting (including master services agreements, non-disclosure agreements, statements of work, contract amendments, and various local terms and conditions of service) in a manner that manages business and legal risk while effectively supporting internal and external customers in fast-paced environment.
* Work with GQO Counsel for mergers & acquisitions and business partners to implement and, where necessary, design and develop processes and procedures necessary to successfully integrate Wright Medicals indirect procurement function.
* Provide timely advice and guidance regarding pre-litigation disputes between Stryker and third party indirect suppliers and service providers.
* Exhibit solid negotiation skills, including comfort negotiating contract terms with indirect suppliers and other parties.
* Provide pragmatic and business relevant assessments of legal risk and exhibit ability to effectively communicate legal risk to non-legal professionals.
* Exercise excellent judgment in identifying and escalating issues to management.
* Become proficient in use of the Contract Lifecycle Management software and, if deemed necessary, provide training and guidance to others related to its use and adoption.
* Provide accurate information and research regarding laws and regulations.
* Support the overall objectives of the Indirect Procurement function through specific local guidance, expertise, strategy, and advice.
* Collaborate and communicate with colleagues, management, business partners, and outside counsel.
* Assist on other matters as needed.
Education & Special Trainings:
* Law degree and admission to practice law.
