SummitRidge Hospital provides quality behavioral health and addiction treatment services in Lawrenceville, GA, approximately 30 miles northeast of downtown Atlanta. Our dedicated team of professionals provide caring and professional inpatient, outpatient and support services to adults and adolescents suffering from psychiatric or addictive disorders. Additionally, the Geriatric unit provides acute care for seniors in psychiatric crisis. The Mental Health Technician carries out a variety of direct and indirect nursing patient care activities and tasks which support the maintenance of the therapeutic milieu and which meet the patient's needs for safety and comfort.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* BS or BA degree in psychology, social work or related field with one year inpatient experience in mental health
* OR
* Three (3) years experience in mental health care/social service may be substituted for or considered in lieu of degree.
* Skilled in effective verbal and written communications, interviewing, and counseling
* Must be able to demonstrate sound judgment, maturity, and the ability to act with objectivity and empathy in crises.
