The Global Technology Architecture organization at Prudential is seeking a Vice President, Architecture Planning. Reporting into the Chief Architect, this highly visible role will join a leadership team responsible for implementing standards, ensuring reusability of architecture that can be leveraged across IT and the businesses, and supporting consistency to drive better business outcomes. The team is looking for a unique combination of skills: strong technical and business acumen, superior coordination and prioritization/organization skills and ability to influence cross-functional collaboration.
The successful candidate will be accountable for all facets of Architecture Planning including:
Provides the technical leadership to ensure and enable the successful design and delivery of enterprise solutions that are scalable, adaptable, and aligned with client business needs
Design and deploy a technical debt ledger process, in partnership with the GT COO organization , which captures and evaluates architecture edge cases that will not initially comply with published, standard patterns or reference architectures
Develop and lead a robust process to update and publish a quarterly Technology Radar, in partnership with Emerging Technology
Serve as the Senior Scrum Master for the Chief Architects 2x weekly standup meetings
Drive administration and operationalization of the Application Portfolio Management process
Serve as single point of contact for the Architecture team, to the Architecture Governance function within the COO organization
Drive administration and operationalization of the publishing and regular updating of architecture principles, patterns, reference architecture, etc. out to the enterprise
Serve single point of contact to the GT COO organization, to help facilitate development and prioritization of upskilling training that aligns with patterns and reference architectures as they are developed and published
Plan and manage the execution of several Hackathons throughout the year, which are intended to help upskill employees, focusing on recently published principles, standards and reference architectures
Skills/Qualifications:
Bachelors degree required
Strong project management skills and organizational skills
Ability to think strategically and synthesize complex information
Strong analytical, problem solving and critical thinking skills
Exceptional verbal, written communication and presentation
Ability to communicate at all levels across the organization, including with senior leaders
Demonstrated success working in a matrix organization
Self-starter with intellectual curiosity
A collaborative mindset and a desire to take ownership of challenging projects
