We are currently seeking a talented Strategic Innovation Director for the San Antonio Home Office, Phoenix Campus, Tampa Campus, Tampa Crosstown, Colorado Springs or Remote Work Environment could be considered.
USAA is seeking experienced and talented innovators to join our Claims Innovation team. Candidates will have the opportunity to join a team of talented high-performers who are working to disrupt the insurance marketplace. Ideal applicants are business technologists with both strategy and execution skills, with a background in insurance or adjacent verticals, and who have who have a proven track record of identifying and leading transformational business solutions.
Supports USAA's strategic objectives by researching and testing innovations related to strategically defined CoSA focus areas. Accountable for determining the feasibility and viability of innovation concepts to include early stage research, ideation, design, incubation, prototyping, piloting, developing a business case and/or partnering with CoSA leadership for innovation efforts.

Primary Responsibilities:
* Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
* Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
* Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.

Minimum Experience:
* Bachelor's degree, OR
* 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
* 8 years of experience in a business and/or staff function such as property and casualty, banking, or financial services that includes 4 years of experience launching innovative solutions, managing releases, and/or executing effective solutions
* Demonstrated problem solving abilities.
* Detail oriented with a strong ability to manage and execute multiple competing projects across multiple CoSAs, business areas or external parties.
* Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders from all levels of executive management an on an Enterprise wide basis.
* Advanced knowledge of project-based methodologies such as Agile and Scrum and tool such as Jira, Asana, Tableau and Salesforce.
* Ability to effectively connect cross-functionally throughout the organization
* Subject matter expert level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends.

Preferred Experience:
* Advanced business acumen in of digital transformation, strategy planning, and/or business model development
* At least two-years in Innovation, R&D;, new product development, or startup experience
* Experience interfacing and partnering with internal stakeholders and external vendors to achieve win/win outcomes that deliver quantifiable business value.
* Experience connecting emerging technologies and market trends with the P&C; value chain including past projects dealing with cloud architecture & SaaS, blockchain, NLP, and/or ML/AI
* Self-starter with the ability to collaborate, adapt, and thrive in a matrixed environment.
* Insurance product development or claims background

Compensation:
USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $106,800-$192,300*( this does not include geographic differential it may be applied based on your work location)
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
*Geographical Differential: Geographic pay differential is additional pay provided to eligible employees working in locations where market pay levels are above the national average.
Shift premium: will be addressed on an individual-basis for applicable roles that are consistently scheduled for non-core hours.
