DIVISIONAL OVERVIEW
Global Investment Research (GIR) division provides economic analysis and investment recommendations by generating fundamental research and analysis of economies, markets, industries and companies. Our clients include asset managers, hedge funds, mutual funds, pension funds, and major non-financial corporations, among others.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We are seeking an economist to join the US Economics team in New York. Economists will:
* Produce original economic research for a large global audience across the financial industry
* Develop quantitative models to forecast economic growth, inflation, and monetary policy
* Closely follow and forecast US monetary policy decisions
* Interpret and comment on high-frequency economic data releases
* Present the teams economic views to internal and external clients globally
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* PhD in Economics
* Strong interest in macroeconomics and monetary policy
* Experience producing original and thought-provoking economic research
* Excellent writing skills
* Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
* Ability to work both autonomously and in a close team setting
* Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills
