Product Marketing Manager, VR: Developer Marketing

Job Description

Oculus is seeking a Product Marketing Manager to support our developer marketing efforts across VR. The ideal candidate will have experience working on rapidly scaling developer software platforms and a proven track record of influencing product and go-to-market strategies. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B or developer marketing and will be able to communicate how our platform can provide meaningful value to developers, and thrives in a fast paced environment. This person will show deep empathy for developer challenges across industry verticals (games and applications).

This role will be responsible for GTM (Go-To-Market) planning for our developer products focused on emerging technology, developer software updates, policy and account features. This person will be responsible for driving awareness and adoption of our developer platform. This person will execute the GTM strategy and coordinate across a variety of cross functioning team members, to align on goals for inbound and outbound marketing programs. This person will heavily focus on Inbound marketing efforts by ensuring we deliver quality content that pulls people toward our developer platform, and keep developers engaged. This role is focused on aligning our published content with our developers interests, and naturally attract inbound traffic that we can delight over time. This role will ensure the marketing narrative of our developer products are distributed through various marketing channels such as email, CRM, events, and social, and will be excited to dig into the innovative technologies that are making VR an easier and more profitable development target.

This is a full-time position.

Product Marketing Manager, VR: Developer Marketing Responsibilities

* Defines value proposition of marketing plans and fully manage complex and high visibility marketing initiatives (tests, launches, campaigns, content), independently

* GTM Planning and coordination to ensure alignment and successful launch of developer products, tools, features and services

* Subject matter expert in software development and can confidently present to a varied cross functioning groups and team leads

* Ability to build the foundation of highly complex insights-based audience strategies that guide marketing efforts without much oversight

* Represent developers with Product Management and Engineering, and provide direction on branding, product positioning and go-to-market planning

* Demonstrates mastery of creating effective culturally relevant work for a developer and or technical audience

* Conduct competitive and market research to garner insights that help drive strategic decisions and product roadmaps from market assessment and quantitative analysis to positioning

* Ability to travel

Minimum Qualifications

* BA/BS degree

* 5+ years professional experience in either of the following areas, product marketing, product management, brand marketing, technical program management, developer relations, partner engineering

* Experience working with developer software (e.g., APIs, SDKs) and writing technical documentation

* Experience working with and/or marketing highly technical products

* Understanding of web and mobile apps, game development, emerging technologies, open source, and the developer and industry landscape (e.g. Unity, Unreal)

* Experience partnering with Product Management and Engineering organizations

* Analytical, communication, and time management skills

* Demonstrated capacity to communicate complex, large-scale concepts clearly and simply

* Experience with a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, start-up environment

Preferred Qualifications

* MBA or other relevant advanced degree strongly recommended

* Direct experience developing a product (mobile, web, etc.)

* Comfortable communicating with a variety of audiences, including both technical and consumer
