Responsible for answering phone calls and scheduling patient appointments. Triages phone calls as necessary. Conducts patient pre-certification to ensure coverage for appointments and medical care. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent and at least 3 years of healthcare related experience. Previous medical scheduling preferred.

* Reviews daily scheduled accounts for errors

* Runs and reviews reports to determine if all PAU required information is appropriately loaded into patient accounts.

* Participates in the Quality Assurance (QA) initiative by actively engaging in the appropriate training necessary for improvement.

* Completes any required corrections or changes to a patient account identified by the QA process in a timely and efficient manner

* Answers all phone calls in a timely manner and provides the appropriate assistance within the expectations of the position.

* Demonstrates a commitment to the hospital compliance program and how it relates to the responsibilities of the position.

* Complies with all hospital policies and procedures.

* Training and education to employees

* Sets expectations, develops plans, and manages processes to assess, improve and maintain the quality of the organization's management, clinical and support activities. Assures that important internal processes and activities throughout the organization are continuously and systematically assessed and improved.
