Job Description

Boiler Operator

Mountain State Carbon, is seeking a Boiler Operator. As a boiler operator, you will be responsible for maintaining the 150 pound steam boilers. It is imperative to the operation that steam continues to critical components of the plant.

Mountain State Carbon is located in the northern panhandle of West Virginia on the Ohio River. The facility consists of one six meter battery and three three-meter batteries with a total coke making capacity in excess of one million tons per year.

Primary Responsibilities:

Operates and maintains high pressure steam boilers, precipitators, auxiliary, cooling towers, compressors, pumps and related equipment

Reads and records pressures, temperatures, fluid levels and other operating conditions

Maintains logs and equipment status

Performs required preventive maintenance work

Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Minimum four years of experience operating high pressure boilers or Stationary Steam Engineers License

Must be willing to work any shift, weekends and overtime

Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality

Ability to read, understand and following safety information, operating instructions and procedure manuals

Willingness to work rotating shifts, weekends and overtime as required

Ability to work at heights
