Work Hours/Shift:
* Full-Time, Monday Friday
You Will Be Responsible For:
* Because the scope of the work of the Department is diverse, namely, corporate law, health law, employment-labor law, and other specialized law related to the conduct of a business, Law Clerk will focus on providing legal assistance to Department attorneys in one or more of the following areas: (the Areas of Emphasis):
* Assist in the preparation of responses to EEOC charges (e.g., interaction with employer to determine and verify facts; develop written narrative or other appropriate writing to explain conduct of employer and/or employee; research basic concepts of employment discrimination law, etc.);
* Assist in the development, review and/or revision of model contracts;
* Research and monitor pending legislation affecting an Area of Emphasis;
* Review, analyze and/or revise simple business/vendor contracts that do not implicate (generally) health care regulatory laws (e.g., Stark, Anti-Kickback)
* Create case law summaries regarding Areas of Emphasis for clients;
* Compile multi-state requirements on a variety of topics effecting hospital functions; and
* Research and write memorandums on varying questions regarding an Area of Emphasis.
