Position Description

Primary Function:

Reporting to Sr Manager Corporate Strategy, the Manager Corporate Strategy will be a proactive thought partner for strategic initiatives and programs, fueling the success of the initiative and/or program through a clear articulation of evolving customer needs and their impact on Graingers value proposition.

This includes gathering and analyzing information, formulating and testing hypotheses, and developing and communicating recommendations. The Mgr. Corp Strat will also have the opportunity to present results to senior leaders and help implement recommendations in collaboration with functional team members.

Principle Duties:

* Work closely with leaders to formulate hypotheses and frameworks
* Identify the right sources of information to test/validate/invalidate hypotheses sources can include qualitative (customer interviews, internal functional interviews, surveys, etc.) and quantitative data.
* Conduct rigorous analyses to arrive at data backed conclusions
* Assist with structuring presentation material
* Create visually appealing pages to present the results of the analyses
* Present the conclusions/recommendations of the analyses to senior leaders in a structured, concise manner

Position Requirements:

Preferred Education & Experience:

* Bachelors Degree required, preferably in Statistics, Mathematics or Engineering
* 2+ years of strategy consulting experience at a top firm
* Curious thinker and learner
* Entrepreneurial spirit to identify issues and drive to resolution
* Self-motivated, independent, driven performer, with excellent team skills
* Excellent PowerPoint and Excel modeling skills
* Knowledge of statistical and data retrieval/analysis tools (e.g., SQL, SPSS, SAS, R, Python etc.) is a plus

Work Environment:

* Work conditions are typical of an office/corporate environment typically 4 days in Lake Forest office in non-COVID times
* Remote work in current COVID situation
* 0-10% travel as needed post COVID
