Opportunity summary: The Maintenance Manager will provide support to the branch and production department and is responsible for all day-to-day maintenance operations. Responsible for managing the entire maintenance department including the mechanics, technicians, any outside contractors associated with the repair of equipment, fabrication of parts, and maintaining parts inventory associated with all equipment. Source and select qualified outside contractors when needed.

How you will impact WestRock:

* Schedule and maintain a preventive maintenance program to ensure downtime on machinery is at its minimum.
* Manage the department resources and personnel to best meet the needs of the operations.
* Supervise the maintenance team on a daily basis and schedule the workload of the team.
* Monitor work in progress and completed work to ensure quality standards are met.
* Assess the performance of the team and recommend opportunities for continued improvement.
* Coach and develop employees to maximize their effectiveness.
* Hands on approach when necessary in repairing machinery when equipment is down to expedite return to operation.
* Count and maintain spare parts inventory.
* Source parts when needed and follow mandated purchase order requirements.
* Work with outside contractors when required.
* Operate metal working machinery which includes, but is not limited to band saw, lathe, and welder, in order to fabricate needed parts.
* Other duties as assigned.

What you need to succeed:

* Strong mechanical knowledge with regards to motors, bearings, and gears

* Strong working knowledge of electrical circuits and power requirements

* Welding and fabrication skills

* Knowledge of proper safety requirements

* Basic computer skills

* Previous supervisory experience in a maintenance department

* Strong leadership and communications skills
