Performs tests using analytical Lab equipment with specific regards to process, materials, and production. Maintains testing results and data related to production process for historical and analytical evaluation. Supports in development and or implementation of new products and materials through analytical testing

* Performs lab tests including, but not limited to, inspection of work in progress and finished tile for thickness, size, gloss, color, etc.
* Performs tests of production process and equipment using analytical equipment for analytical purposes including kilns.
* Maintains electronic data of testing results.
* Inspects product samples to ensure quality standards are met.
* Documents test results.
* Monitors equipment or processes and reports problems to supervisor.
* Follows standard operating procedures.
* Keeps area safe, clean and organized.
* Performs other related duties as required
* Complete all required training, including ergonomic, safety, health and environmental.
* Identify and adjust workstation arrangement, work practices, and workflow to reduce risk factors
* Report issues to supervisor/manager when unable to control risk factor/s.
* Report symptoms of injury/illness and concerns when first noted.
* Participate in incident investigation.
* Use ergonomic equipment provided
* Demonstrate safe work practices.
* Promotes and adheres to all safety and health policies and procedures of plant

BS degree preferred or technical discipline, with 2-5 years minimum experience in a manufacturing environment. Self-directed; with strong working knowledge of Quality systems and ISO 9000. Strong technical leader and problem solver with ability to handle multiple daily priorities to achieve results. Good verbal and written communication skills are a must, along with the ability to work as part of a team in daily problem solving and new process/product introduction. Proven ability to resolve manufacturing issues and implement systemic process improvements is a must.

Core competencies include strong communication and leadership skills, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Ability to train, motivate and coach employees. Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines. Must be proficient in MS Excel. Must possess excellent planning, administrative, and organizational skills.
