As the Communications Manager for US Marketing & Operations (M&O), you have the opportunity to be the voice behind the voice. We're looking for someone to join our team to help drive communications in a fast-paced environment with amazing impact and a charter to help accelerate or shift to outcome focused selling.
This role will collaborate across the M&O and field to capture our best customer transformational stories, data driven revenue marketing and business excellence success factors and bring them to life at scale! In this role, you will be working for the US M&O Chief of Staff and supporting the M&O Vice President. You will help extend executive reach by building and executing against a Communications Plan that amplifies the voice of the VP and aligns to the corporate communication strategy. You will be a critical player in defining the messages delivered by this senior executive through internal and external communications including videos, social media, internal and external keynotes, and written and face-to-face communications. The role will be responsible for full end to end management of speaker preparation, rehearsals, briefing documents and supporting materials.
In addition to working directly with the executive, you will work with groups across the USM&O, to ensure that messages are aligned to the Microsoft mission, strategy, business priorities and culture. This individual must thrive in a very fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and multi-task across a variety of projects. He/she should also be interested in creating VP brand identity and how the executive shows up as a thought leader with other industry and non-industry COOs. The ability to build strong work back plans with clear deliverables is critical. This is a great opportunity to gain perspective while making a difference!
Key Responsibilities
* Communications strategy and development: Develop the M&O communications plan reflecting the defined culture vision and thought leadership, business strategy, and organizational leadership for the M&O Vice President. Own plan and execution of org engagement initiatives (DTA, All Hands, Manager community, org Emails, Teams creation, community Events, etc). Develop and manage a communications calendar for internal and external communications and engagements, including gathering input from key stakeholders, talking points and collateral, and coordinating with guest speakers.
* External engagement: Drive the strategy and management of VP external speaking engagements and executive sponsorship relationships including leading briefing, prep, and content creation (customer, press, analyst). This will also include owning the VP external social media channels to continue establishing VP as thought leader and effectively utilizing social media as an executive channel.

* Communication strategy setting and planning: 25%
* Employee and executive communications: 25%
* Storytelling, thought leadership and messaging: 25%
* Crisis, issues, and change management communications: 15%
* Consulting on communications matters that impact business; growing industry and professional expertise: 10%

More specific qualifications and attributes are:
* 5+ years in marketing or communications with a strong marcomm operation and production experience.
* BA/BS in Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field OR equivalent experience.
* Strong collaboration skills - flexibility, proactiveness, teamwork, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment is a must.
* High capacity for multitasking and project management skills, able to manage multiple, high-stakes projects and deliverables simultaneously across workgroups and stakeholders.
* Self-directed with great initiative and sense of ownership.
* Demonstrated ability to synthesize the complex - able to take multiple, complicated, disparate inputs from a variety of materials, evidence, and long form messaging and transform it into simple, clear, succinct, elegant, and compelling communication work products like talking points, Q&A, social content, and similar.
