Role Value Proposition:

Negotiates settlements and issue payments to claimants for auto repairs after reviewing and applying coverages, deductibles and exclusions. Writes auto damage repair cost estimates.

Territory: Rhode Island

Key Responsibilities:

* Negotiates settlements and issues payment to insureds and claimants for auto repairs, after reviewing and applying coverages, deductibles, and exclusions. Receives assignments electronically.
* Assesses auto damage using electronic estimating software, prepares damage repair cost estimates and total losses valuations, and photographs damages for documentation.
* Negotiates with auto repair facilities to reach agreed repair costs. Prepares and negotiates supplementary estimates as necessary.
* Communicates details of auto repair agreements to vehicle owners. Identifies total loss situations, determines value, negotiates and settles total loss claim with customer, coordinates claim document handling and payments with a Total Loss Specialist. Reports the presence of fraud indicators.
* Meets a high standard of work production and quality with the capability of handling the most complex assignments.
* Leads special projects or initiatives as needed. Performs other duties as assigned or required. Able to be available for CAT duty if needed.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

* Minimum of 5 years appraising experience.
* Licensed to adjust and appraise in RI.
* Clean driving record required.

Preferred:

* Technical auto repair industry knowledge.
* Estimating software knowledge (CCCOne).
* Strong organizational and time management skills. Excellent communication skills - written / oral.
* ICAR Platinum Designation or working towards designation.
