Dow has an exciting job opportunity for a High Voltage Electrician at Seadrift, Texas.

Job Purpose:

High Voltage Electricians are responsible for installing, testing and maintaining industrial electrical equipment (up to 69KV) and control systems in a safe manner.

Responsibilities:

* Duties could include, but are not limited to installing, connecting, maintaining and troubleshooting:
* Low, medium, and high voltage motor control systems
* Switchgear, transformers, substations, oil/gas high voltage circuit breakers, air switches
* High voltage power cable, electric motors and generators
* Protective devices and relays
* DC battery charger stations, inverters and UPS systems.
* Motor drives systems (synch./induction/DC/VFD)
* Use procedures - this includes field use, review, revise, and development of procedures.

Required Qualifications:

* A current, valid US drivers license.
* Willing and able to work on a 4-10 schedule (4 days per week at 10 hours per day) with occasional overtime as dictated by business needs.
* Participates in an after hour call rotation for night and weekend coverage.
Strong Initiative, Teamwork, and Technical Capabilities.
* This role includes the ability to utilize functional, technical knowledge, company standards and educational background or experience to analyze and solve problems
* A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States. No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code.

Education:

* High School diploma or equivalent and one of the following is required:
* Associate's Degree in Electrical Technology.
* 4 or more years of relevant Military Training.
* 2 or more years of industrial manufacturing electrical experience.

Physical Requirements:
Able to meet the following physical demands of the job, with or without reasonable accommodations:

* Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs.
* Frequent bending, reaching, and lifting
* Stand 50% of the time.
* Walk for extended periods of time
* Work at heights, climb stairs and ladders.
* Work in tight and closed in spaces.
* Wear all required personal protective equipment, including but not limited to respirator.
* Work in an area of intense or continuous noise.
* Work in an area with hazardous materials.
* Able to lift hoses, rigging equipment, and power tools and similar equipment as a normal part of the job.
* Able to climb stairs, ladders, negotiate uneven surfaces and work at heights.
* Able to traverse gangways and scaffolding at varying heights.
* Our safety equipment has weight restrictions. In order to qualify, you must be able to use standard safety equipment which is rated for someone who weighs 300 pounds or less.

Skills and Abilities:

* Comfortable and competent to work with energized control and protection circuits within the allowances and requirements of the Electrical Work Practices procedures.
* Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams as well as troubleshoot control circuits from such drawings.
* Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word and Excel, and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
* Be proficient in computers to perform job tasks.
Have strong Interpersonal, Facilitative, and Organizational skills.
Effectively interacts with multiple functions and diverse individuals to achieve goals.

* Demonstrates excellent decision making skills and the ability to prioritize appropriately.

* Effectively manages multiple competing priorities.
