The position is responsible for the day-to-day operations within the materials group related to the planning, procurement, and inventory control of the facility to meet customer order requirements while also eliminating excess and obsolete inventory for the facility.
* Directly supervises and develops an effective and reliable staff in order to achieve company goals and objectives. Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect direct reports.
* Oversees the daily planning and scheduling of batches to meet customer demand and on-time delivery goals for the Materials team. Ensures optimum inventory levels are maintained through short and long-term material planning to control investment, mitigate risk, and support all production activities to prevent delays in schedules.
* Ensures the timely ordering of all raw materials, containers, and special materials required to meet changing market demands. Works with Sourcing to establish economic order quantities, which leverage pricing while controlling inventory levels.
* Maintains material master settings in SAP to ensure adequate inventory levels and to meet customer demands. Interacts internally with direct reports and other department supervisors providing information and resolving basic problems. May interact with external vendors, suppliers and/or customers to resolve issues and answer questions. Serves as an SAP power user, which includes placing IT requests for system failures and/or improvements and will provide training to others in the facility when required.
* Participates in the creation of new products, establishes new resource codes, and coordinates the import of non-US finished products for redistribution through the facility.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
* One to two years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, to include some experience serving a lead capacity, or equivalent experience in a manufacturing setting. EDUCATION REQUIRED
* Bachelors degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline. CERTIFICATIONS PREFERRED
* APICS certification.
