Responsible for learning and developing lean and quality concepts/principles by studying and planning operations for the effective utilization of personnel, material, machines and facilities where decisions are made within the limits of general practices and policies. Interacts with more experienced lean and manufacturing professionals to manage and follow through on independent projects.
Assist with Lean activities utilizing engineering background Assist in establishing operational methods and work standards using measurement techniques (i.e. time studies) Assist with Kaizen events by establishing course of action to accomplish task and/or project Assist in developing, modifying, applying, and maintaining quality standards for products and processes Provides statistical information for quality improvement by gathering data on trends and root cause analysis Regular contact with others outside the work group in a non-union manufacturing environment
Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering, or related discipline. Sophomore/Junior Status Good academic standing Ability to work effectively in a variety of administrative, technical and manufacturing assignments. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills for effective interface with all contacts. Knowledgeable with drafting/modelling software (Autocad preferred) Ability to work effectively with others and be a participative team player.
