The Northrop Grumman Payload and Ground Systems Division is a strategic partner specializing in delivering intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions for classified and unclassified missions in the space domain. We provide integrated classified support in the form of space domain awareness, satellite mission operations, satellite command and control and development and deployment of restricted payload solutions.

Our team is currently hiring a Model Based Systems Engineer. In this role, the engineer will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. In additiona, analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. The Model Based Systems Engineer ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. In addition, he/she performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.

Qualification

Basic Qualifications:

* Active DoD Top Secret clearance or SCI access
* 5 years of relevant experience with a Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM discipline or 3 years of relevant experience with a Masters 39; degree
* Excellent written and oral communication skills
* Strong interpersonal and analytic skills
* Expertise with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) languages (SysML/UML) and concepts
* Strong foundational knowledge of systems engineering principles and processes
* Detailed understanding of the Tasking, Collection, Planning, Exploitation, and Dissemination (TCPED) chain
* Strong problem solving skills

Preferred Qualifications:

* Detailed experience with SysML tools like Cameo Enterprise Architecture
* Direct experience using the DOORS Requirements Management Database
* Experience with Agile development framework
* Detailed understanding of software development and deployment cycle
* Knowledge of industry best practices for MBSE
* Experience participating in or leading internal and external design reviews
* Skillsets broadly adaptable toward integrated digital engineering framework
* The candidate should possess a high degree of ethics, strong core values and an optimistic outlook, and show the ability to work independently with initiative, creativity and innovation
