Position Description

Primary purpose:

* Responsible for the safe, efficient and effective operation of the equipment, systems and infrastructure at Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) import and export terminal

* Plans and schedules work crews, contractors and construction support services to meet deadlines

* Operate the terminal within production limits, alarms and key performance indicators

Essential duties and responsibilities:

* Plan, organize and direct personnel in the operation and maintenance of the Terminal in a safe, dependable and efficient manner

* Provide leadership and management of approximately 5-10 operations team members that form one of four teams that will staff and operate the terminal 24 hours a day, seven days a week

* Provide effective leadership for employee development, document and review performance of employees, make employment action recommendations

* Know and educate employees on company policies and procedures

* Ensure the regulatory and company training requirements are met for self and employees

* Continuously observe Terminal processes and recommend process improvements

* Supervise the operation of the plant equipment in the most efficient manner possible while ensuring the overall process safety

* Coordinate with Gas Control to avoid and/or minimize adverse impacts on the operation of the Terminal and our customers

* Ensure the accurate measurement of liquefied natural gas entering the Terminal as well as the accurate measurement of the natural gas being delivered from the Terminal to delivery points on other pipelines.

* Assist with security of the Terminal

* Be prepared to execute emergency response activities at all times

* Work with the Operations Supervisor to ensure compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety and environmental regulations

* Monitor and implement Health/Safety/ Security/ Environmental (HSSE) processes (Hot Work, Permit to Work, Confined Space, etc.)

* Assist in the planning, administration and control of capital and maintenance budgets.

* Assist in the planning, directing and control of contracted resources.

* Review technical drawings and documents and provide guidance to the LNG Operations Engineering group

* This supervisory position is expected to have a hands on approach, (performing rounds, minor maintenance and plant operations) working 12 hour shifts on a rotating shift schedule with a potential for overtime.

Position Requirements

Minimum requirements:

Education:

* High School Diploma or GED

* An Associate's degree or equivalent related experience is desired

Experience / specific knowledge:

* A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience

* A minimum of 2 years of industry experience operating a liquefied natural gas terminal or similar process; experience and/or knowledge with pertinent process equipment (i.e., centrifugal pumps, reciprocating compressors, etc.)

* Familiarity with all applicable governmental regulations and company specifications and policies Work management system experience

Certifications, licenses, registrations:

* Possess a valid driver's license and meet company insurability requirements

* Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)

* May be required to achieve and maintain certifications as required to perform job duties

* Achieve and maintain all qualifications and progression requirements applicable to the job

* Successful completion of background check and drug screen prior to hire

* Good computer skills (knowledge of MS Office, various operating systems, and other company software)

* Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals)

Physical demands:

* Must be able to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions, and 50 pounds from floor to waist.

* Must be able to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), climb vertical access ladders/stairwells, carry up to 50 pounds, and to see, hear, walk and talk effectively.

* Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.

* Post offer medical examination pursuant to PHMSA 49CFR193 regulations

Working conditions:

* Must respond to and address call-outs and emergencies after regular business hours

* May be required to carry a company-provided cell phone/pager, and be available to respond during working and non-working hours

* Some travel will be required from time to time for training and other matters

Supervisory responsibility: Yes

Preferred:

* An Associate's degree or equivalent related experience is desired

* Thorough knowledge of company administrative and operating policies/procedures

* Training in the Incident Command System (ICS)

* CMMS experience; (Maximo preferred)
