Primary Responsibilities:

* Lead or help develop program or project scope statements, in consultation with applicable stakeholders (e.g. program / project charter, Statement of Work, Business Vision Document)
* Work with resource managers to drive the identification of the skills, duration and effort required for successful project execution
* Collect, analyze and maintain financial forecast information (e.g. labor, hardware, software), using input from applicable sources
* Establish / apply quality objectives, criteria, standards, and levels using appropriate quality management methods, with stakeholder input (e.g. key performance indicators, scope definition)
* Define and drive project plan including major deliverables, milestones, critical dependencies
* Develop, communicate, and implement program / project risk / issue management plans and strategies (e.g. mitigation, avoidance, transfer, acceptance)
* Develop, document, and implement project communication plans
* Coaches, provides feedback, and guides others, acts as a resource for others with less experience

This role will challenge your ability to work on complex projects where deadlines and scope shift frequently. You'll need flexibility, agility, and the ability to adapt to change while maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders in a highly cross-matrixed environment.

Required Qualifications:

* Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience
* 5+ years of experience working in a complex matrixed work environment with competing priorities
* 3+ years of project management experience using data and information to make business decisions
* 3+ years of operational experience (Examples: Claims processing, medical management, call center, and/or provider network operations)
* 3+ years of business process improvement experience
* If you need to enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen for symptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e., entering your symptoms via phone system) or similar UnitedHealth Group-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building, employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employees must comply with any state and local masking orders

Preferred Qualifications:

* 3+ years Business operations strategy definition and execution in a matrixed organization
* Familiarity with Optum and Optum's products & services
* Ability to identify solutions to non-standard requests and problems
* Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and SharePoint
* Healthcare experience
* Strong executive communication and presentation skills with demonstrated ability to communicate ideas clearly and concisely
* Excellent time management, organizational, and prioritization skills and ability to balance multiple priorities
* Ability to gain acceptance for ideas, plans, actions and then implement across organizational boundaries
* Works with minimal guidance; seeks guidance on only the most complex tasks

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $79,700 to $142,600.
