Summary:
The portfolio manager within American Family Life Insurance Company (AFLIC) will be responsible for providing a structured approach to prioritizing, communicating and managing the overall AFLIC enterprise portfolio and ensuring there is strategic and investment alignment across the programs and divisions within the portfolio.

Primary Accountabilities
* Provide portfolio oversight/management, prioritization and implementation of strategic initiatives in connection to the overall agile framework.
* Monitor the performance of initiatives within the portfolio; collaborate with project managers/product owners to ensure projects stay aligned to the approved business case, CBA, contribution value, and the committed timeline to ensure portfolio success.
* Help facilitate and lead the monthly portfolio syncs in coordination with corporate planning; facilitate discussions by providing visibility into how well the portfolio is progressing toward meeting its objectives by including topics such as reviewing epic implementations, enterprise OKRs status update, addressing dependencies, etc.
* Communicate enterprise strategic goals to the programs and assist in translation of the long-term view to the nearer-term portfolio
* Manages the legacy system retirement roadmap, based off of product strategies driven by program teams, incorporating all AFLIC legacy products to inform broader IT strategies.
* Work closely with leadership through the strategic planning process & the continual re-balancing of portfolio initiatives based on need/execution
* Collaborate with programs to create portfolio level plans to execute on key AFLIC enterprise objectives and strategic initiatives
* Create portfolio management best practices to enhance portfolio management/prioritization effectiveness
Specialized Knowledge and Skills
* Demonstrated experience providing customer-driven solutions, support or service
* Demonstrated experience communicating with senior and executive leaders
* Demonstrated experience successfully managing large portfolios involving multiple programs and operational areas across the enterprise
* Demonstrated experience with portfolio management tools, methods and practices within the agile framework
* Demonstrated experience with budget, metrics and other operational analyses
* Solid knowledge and understanding of operational and strategic planning
* Strong data analytics skills
* Strategic thinker and proactive decision maker
* Collaborative, curious and confident
* Passion for continuous learning and growth
