Position Description

Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in the collection, recording, and reporting patient data in accordance with department standards. Prepares room and ensures are is ready to receive patient.

Handles and prepares specimens obtained during the procedure in a timely manner and in accordance with policy and procedure.

Selects, assembles, tests, and operates equipment and instruments in accordance with departmental policy and procedure.

Contributes to a culture of patient centered care by ensuring a quiet healing environment.

Communicates and interacts with patients, families, and others in a caring, empathetic, courteous, and respectful manner.

Within scope of practice, communicates clearly and provides explanation of care in a way that can be easily understood by patients and their families. Ensures patients family is informed of patient status as appropriate.

Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 3 years as an Endoscopy technician

Current BLS, or BLS instructor through American Heart Association

Skills: Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills.
