POSITION SUMMARY:

The Respiratory Therapist III functions independently in all areas of Med/Surg, Adult Intensive Care areas as well as Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Job responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following. Medication and Oxygen administration, Ventilator management, Arterial Blood Gas sampling and analysis, EKGs, Bedside PFT and any additional duties assigned, based on operational needs by department management. Experience requirements may be waived or modified when an appropriate program or course is available and successfully completed for New Graduate RCP's or for area of specialization. Candidate must function independently requiring minimal supervision, possess effective critical thinking skills, be a highly effective clinician and demonstrate a professional behavior towards patients, customers and staff members.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

* High school graduate or equivalent, and graduate from an accredited respiratory program required

LICENSURE:

* Licensed with the Board of Medical Examiners required.
* Registration with National Board of Respiratory Care required.
* Nevada licensure to perform arterial blood gases required within 90 days of hire.
* BLS certification required.
* NRP certification required within 90 days of hire.
* Employee must maintain current status of all licenses listed above.

EXPERIENCE:

* Minimum of two years clinical experience in an acute care facility or freestanding clinic preferred.
