Position Objective:
Our new Director will lead the growing Analysis and Innovative Metrology (AIM) Group in Cortland, NY. This team currently consists of metrologists, computational fluid dynamists, engineering programmers / modelers / data analysts.
Your Role:
* Lead AIM in conducting research to push the state of the art in fluid flow, filtration, and metrology. Innovates to develop new technologies for filtration and separation applications and measurement.
* Develop innovative analysis tools for designing additively manufactured filters and the metrological tools for understanding their performance versus conventional products.
* Performs structural mechanical analyses to guide new product development (NPD) projects and solve for mechanical problems with existing products.
* You will act as a domain specialist in resolving internal and external customer problems.
* Interacts with global cross-functional members from R&D, Engineering, Technology Transfer, Scientific and Laboratory Services, Marketing and Manufacturing and find opportunities to bring the capabilities of AIM to optimize Pall products and processes.
* Responsible for budgets (OpEx and CapEx)
* Participates in technical brain storming sessions, as related to NPD projects, and contributes by utilizing fundamental understanding of physics.
* Communicates clearly with team members, management, customers, suppliers and other key stakeholders.
* Provide feedback and coaching to direct reports on all aspects of job performance, development and succession planning.
* Fosters and exemplifies a culture of integrity, honesty, and inclusion within AIM and throughout the Pall community.
* Requires 10% travel (both nationally and internationally).

Minimum Qualifications:
* Masters degree in Aeronautical, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering with a focus in structural mechanics with at least 10 years of experience.
* At least 7 years of engineering management experience.
* Problem solving ability and excellent oral/written communication skills are required.
* US Citizenship or Resident Alien status required to support government programs and projects.
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience in filtration is highly desirable.
* Knowledge of Filter Design, Fluid dynamics, and Metrology is desirable.
* Familiarity with design for additive manufacturing is desirable.
* Experience with ANSYS software tools is desirable.
