U.S. Bank is seeking an experienced paralegal for its Legal Regulatory Group (LRG) within the Law Division. The successful candidate will be able to work collaboratively and develop strong working relationships with partners across multiple lines of business, compliance, risk, and the Law Division.
Responsibilities:
* Assist in the LRG attorneys in supporting the enterprise regulatory change management program by monitoring federal and state legislation and regulations to identify impactful changes for implementation by the Company;
* Assist with testing and implementation of new system for use by LRG and Compliance partners in the regulatory change monitoring efforts;
* Assist LRG attorneys in the implementation of regulatory changes, including managing projects, performing legal research, drafting procedures and presentations, and coordinating with internal stakeholders;
* Assist in bank branch application organization, completion and submission to the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency;
* Perform monitoring of enforcement actions by federal regulators and draft summaries of the action;
* Organize data and create succinct presentations and reporting of this data for stakeholders; and
* Represent LRG in internal meetings and bring relevant legal issues to LRG attorneys for consideration.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors Degree;
* At least two years of relevant experience at a law firm or financial services institution;
* Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the banking and financial services industry;
* Strong written and verbal communication skills;
* Ability to meet short deadlines and manage multiple projects
* Ability to work well independently and collaborate as part of a team to make substantive contributions to LRG;
* Ability to exercise sound judgment and prioritize work;
* Demonstrated self-initiative and ability to anticipate and address needs in areas of responsibility;
* Strong business acumen and a positive, can-do attitude;
* Desire to continually develop additional skills and grow in a new position;
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite products; and
* Strong organizational and analytical skills.
