OVERVIEW:
Individual contributor responsible for providing day-to-day global regulatory support, execution and advisement for the successful launch and lifecycle of compliant formulated consumer products such as home fragrance, personal care, as well as OTC drugs. Key duties include: concept review, ingredient/formula evaluation, label approval, claims, registrations, and post market support.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Product Compliance Management
Accountable to understand and apply global regulations to ensure compliant products.
Communicate product and labeling requirements to appropriate stakeholders.
Assist in the development of product concepts and marketing claims.
Evaluate and resolve minor product compliance issues with cross functional partners.
Perform reviews to confirm formula, label and product acceptability.
Evaluate and escalate major issues to manager.
Product Research and Evaluation:
Perform research on regulatory related topics appropriate to areas of accountability.
Provide recommendations and information to supervisor and regulatory teams.
Continue to learn and apply regulations and begin to leverage experience in issue management.
Develop an understanding of market positioning and ingredient/technology acceptability.
Submission and Reporting Management:
Assist and oversee the design and maintenance of regulatory recordkeeping systems.
Organize information, documentation and databases to ensure completeness and ease of use.
Assist with data analysis and report development.
Provide metric data for areas of responsibility and tasks.
Responsible for identifying and developing SOPs associated to areas of accountability.
Emerging Issues Mgmt. / External Monitoring:
Awareness and understanding of regulations, industry and technical issues.
Responsible for understanding emerging technical issues and identifying impacts through functional support of sub-brand projects.
Responsible for communicating developments and relevant information to regulatory and technical teams.
External monitoring: FDA, Health Canada, EU Cosmetics Regulation, Federal & State legislation, FTC, NAD, Federal Register, International emerging issues.
Government Agency and Trade Association Management:
Participate in trade association activities as identified by supervisor.
Monitor government/regulations applicable to their area of accountability.
Communicate emerging trade association activities and/or governmental monitoring to regulatory team applicable to their area of accountability,
Participate and organize educational and development activities such as webinars as needed.
Talent Management:
Assist in onboarding new associates and training cross functional partners when needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, B.S./BA in related field.
0-2 years of related experience
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Must be collaborative, motivated and adaptable.
