Job Description Details
The Associate Producer (AP) for Remote Productions assists in the creation of content within the Remote Productions team for all platforms. They support producers in all phases of production, including technical operations, creative strategy, resource scheduling, timelines, and workflow to accomplish tasks. They coordinate technical information and logistics surrounding television production, content creation and streaming outlets to achieve desired production goals. They take initial direction, and assignments, and then work independently to achieve tasks while communicating their progress. The Associate Producer often utilizes independent judgment to research and procure production support both internally and externally, suppliers and vendors. The Associate Producer often makes key decisions and establishes procedures in the studio or on site.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Communicate with and assist Technical Manager and Producer(s) in all aspects of the production of both live and recorded content creation to be shared across multiple platforms. Work effectively within a team to challenge legacy thinking, work with, and suggest new technologies, formats, and practices. Assist with technical set up and execution under the direction of the Technical Manager.
* Arrange and facilitate various production logistics, including, but not limited to the following: Skype production and testing, production paperwork, legal documentation; insurance certificates; permits; release forms; schedules; travel arrangements; crew accommodation, etc.
* Research, hire, and supervise the following internal/external staff: security, craft services, catering staff, Hair and Makeup. Responsible for approving and tracking costs associated with these external companies.
* Arrange and facilitate various production logistics, including, but not limited to the following: legal documentation; insurance certificates; permits; release forms; schedules; travel arrangements; crew accommodation, etc.
* Attend remote broadcasts to facilitate all arranged logistics. Once on location interact extensively with production crew (via headset communication, two-way radio, and/or telephone) to ensure clear, concise communication between teams
* Assist other Team Members with various tasks as required.
* Perform other related duties as assigned by manager or Senior Manager, Remote Productions.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE
* Must have a well-rounded knowledge of television production, including some training on broadcast equipment.
* Ability to handle multiple projects at once.
* Requires basic accounting and budget experience.
* Excellent working knowledge of how special events unfold or remote broadcast planning.
* Strong time management skills are required to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
* Knowledge of QVCs business model is helpful, including an awareness of product categories.
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
* An undergraduate degree in television production or a related field is required.
Experience
* A minimum of three years in television production or large special event planning is required.
* Experience with live television is highly desired.
* Proven communication, interpersonal and customer service skills are required.
* Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
JOB REQUIREMENTS (As required by the ADA)
* Position requires flexible hours and ability to travel overnight. Amount of travel varies per calendar year but individual should be willing to travel about 150 days per year
* Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
* Ability to listen and document discussions and meetings
* Ability to function independently.
* Ability to operate general office equipment (fax, photocopier, computer, and printer) stationed between 3 and 4 feet high.
* Ability to perform physical tasks; lifting boxes and road cases up to 50 lb. Standing/sitting for prolonged periods of time.
* Maintain attendance as defined by company policy.
