Job Description
Primary Purpose:
Lead a small team to manage the preparation of the consolidated Norfolk Southern Volume and revenue forecasts, analyze volume and revenue trends and create visual dashboards, reports, and presentations for senior leadership.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Partner with business unit planning teams to prepare a consolidated monthly volume and revenue forecast. Analyze forecast updates to evaluate forecast trends and business outlook. Communicate changes to senior Marketing leadership, and share forecast with Finance and Operations.
* Follow economic updates and partner with Market Research team to ensure consistent planning assumptions are used in planning and forecasting.
* Monitor Norfolk Southern volume and revenue trends and highlight changes from the forecast to Marketing senior leadership. Understand drivers and help explain variances.
* Maintain and refine an econometric volume model predicting future volume trends based on economic data inputs. Partner with business groups on use of model in forecast process.
* Serve as primary point of contact for volume and revenue data warehouse Delphi) and econometric volume model (Pythia) systems.
* Help prepare presentations for senior Marketing leadership, including Board of Director meetings, security analyst presentations and internal meetings.
* Engage team members and partner with business unit planning teams to ensure understanding of Norfolk Southern volume and revenue forecasting.
