Job Description:
We are looking for a diligent Senior Staff Accountant to join our Loan Accounting Externally Serviced team to support both Installment Loan and Installment LOC products. The Senior Staff Accountant's responsibilities include maintaining financial records and reporting, performing account reconciliations, assisting with month end close processes, authoring and maintaining procedures, processing balance sheet, P&L and cash settlement journal entries, and assigned projects. In addition, assisting the accounting manager as needed and respond to information requests by management and for auditing purposes.
To be successful as a Staff Accountant, you should be able to accurately maintain general ledger balances and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). An outstanding Senior Staff Accountant should also have excellent communication, organizational and analytical skills, and be detailed oriented.
Senior Staff Accountant Responsibilities:
* Maintaining financial records by processing daily, weekly, and monthly transactions in order to be certain that books balance at the end of the day (debits = credits). In addition to insuring proper funding for daily ACH or wire settlements with external clients, servicers or vendors.
* Resolving errors by performing complex reconciliations, and following procedures to determine and process adjusting entries to maintain accurate financial records on general ledger.
* Identifying process gaps, risks and efficiencies
* Application of GAAP and internal Accounting Policies specifically for but limited to expense and income recognition. As well as late stage accounting, accrual, non-accrual, charge off and recoveries.
* Preparing reporting for internal presentation or external delivery. Such as settlement reporting and invoicing
Qualifications
Qualifications:
Educational, Certifications and/or Other Professional Credentials:
* BA/BS degree in Accounting or Finance required
* 3-5 years of professional experience in an accounting/finance role
Required Skills/Experience:
* Intermediate in Microsoft Office - specifically excel including V-lookups, H-Lookups, Pivots, Table and Graph creation
* Ability to work individually and collaboratively across multiple teams
* Experience performing in an ever changing environment with proven ability to multitask
* Strong Accounting background with experience in detailed research and analysis
* Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
* Excellent understanding of Accounting principles (GAAP, FASB)
* Excellent analytical skills and detail oriented
Hours and Work Schedule
Hours per Week: 40 hrs
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8-5
