At Facebook Reality Labs, FRL, our goal is to explore, innovate and design novel interfaces and hardware subsystems for the next generation of augmented, virtual, and mixed-reality experiences. We are looking for a skilled and motivated E-Textiles Research Scientist to join our team, whose mission is to work with a broad range of multidisciplinary research to advance the state-of the-art for wearable interaction devices. We are specifically looking for a candidate with broad systems-level knowledge in softgoods construction, strong fundamentals in novel electronic materials and textiles, and who can work with a team of researchers who are working in haptic rendering techniques, psyhophysics, and AR/VR specific human-computer-interaction paradigms. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers, designers, and engineers, and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities. FRL is devoted to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. In addition, FRL promotes employee growth through career and personal development programs, including Employee Resource Groups (e.g., Latin@, Pride@, Women@), diversity and inclusion programs, training (through the Facebook Learning & Development program), family leave, and mentorship programs (e.g., Lean-In Circles).
