Job Description

The Privacy Director will report to the Chief Privacy Officer. The Privacy Director will be a key member of the Global Privacy Office and will be responsible for executing the Company's privacy program and related projects, including the implementation of policies and procedures in the brands/regions/functions, conducting privacy impact assessments and vendor risk assessments, and responding to escalated data subject requests (as required by applicable law).

The Privacy Director will:
Implement and enforce privacy related policies, procedures and controls with the assistance of privacy liaisons (where applicable)
Maintain inventories of activities involving the processing of personal data
Manage the handling of complaints and non-routine data subject access or deletion requests
Facilitate and complete vendor risk assessments and privacy impact assessments
Oversee the delivery and development of data privacy awareness and training
Work with the Information Technology department to ensure privacy by design is considered in new and existing technologies
Escalate and address privacy risks identified by new/changes to processes and systems
Participate in the response to privacy incidents and draft incident response records
Maintain and work with the Legal department to implement documentation required for data transfers
Provide regular updates to the Global Privacy Office and other stakeholders on privacy issues in the regions
Proactively stay informed of updates on applicable privacy laws and regulations
Perform additional duties as needed.

Qualifications
Position based in New York
Minimum 5 years in Privacy and 3 years in other relevant experience such as Compliance, preferably at multinational company, law firm and/or consulting firm
IAPP certification preferred but not required
Deep knowledge of global privacy principles/requirements and their application to the retail sector
Ability to form strong relationships with business leaders
Exercises good judgment in decision making, able to understand and synthesize complex issues, and support the execution of business strategy
Clear, concise and effective written and verbal communication skills, including in person, on the phone and via email
Ability to work independently and in a complex matrixed, international environment
Highly motivated, self-driven and enthusiastic
Demonstrated initiative, independent thinking and creative problem solving
Desire for continuous learning and professional development
-Undergraduate Degree, Law Degree an asset but not required

-IAPP Certification (preferred)
