SOVAH Health - Martinsville

Recognizes, manages, and rehabilitates injuries to student athletes under the direction of the team physician or by written referral from a physician, and in accordance with state athletic training practice act.. Provides techniques for prevention of injuries and instructs/trains on safe exercise techniques.

Job Requirements

Minimum Education
Bachelors degree Required in a health related field from an accredited college or university.

Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Possible lifting, bending, walking, kneeling, stretching, and stooping. Requires hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity to allow for suture or staple removal. Requires normal hearing and eyesight to allow for patient interaction and transfer of patient information from the patient to pen chart. Need to have the ability to handle high amounts of stress.

Required Skills
Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS). Must be NATA BOC certified and possess or be in the process of acquiring licensure, certification or registration for the state of VA.

Minimum Work Experience
Prefer 1-2 years experience. Will train new grads.
