Harris Regional Hospital

$2,500 Sign-on Bonus for Medical Assistants. A 2-year commitment period is required. The Bonus payout occurs over the 2-year period.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The function of this position is to work alongside and assist Providers in the treatment of patients.

Assists Providers with preparation and information documentation for the patients visit including obtaining vitals, medical history and other pertinent information from the patient. Prepares exam rooms for patients. Assists Providers with procedures as directed by the Provider. Assists with collection of lab samples. Gives injections, administers meds, and provides wound care as ordered by Provider. Documents all care and education in medical record.

Job Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

The following qualifications are the minimum requirements necessary to adequately perform this job. However, any equivalent combination of experience, education and training which provides the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities would be acceptable, subject to any legal and/or regulatory requirements.

A. Education: High school diploma or GED. Certified Nursing Assistants, Certified Medical Assistants, or Licensed Practical Nurses will be considered for this position. Will consider individuals with an equivalent combination of education and experience. License/certification is not required for this position.

B. Work experience: Prefer two years experience working as a medical assistant in a physicians office.

C. Knowledge, skills and abilities required: Must have the ability to work independently, have strong oral skills, good basic math skills and be computer literate.

D. Life Safety: American Heart Association BLS certification (CPR) maintained.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

Extended periods of walking, standing, bending and stooping may be required. Ability to hear clearly and have visual acuity necessary for computer use. Ability to do repetitive work, keyboarding and writing. Ability to lift 25 pounds.
