Privacy, Security and Integrity Infrastructure (PSII) is responsible for protecting user data at Facebook and its family of apps. PSII collaborates with teams across the company, including engineering, security, legal and policy, to build software that provides these protections. We help keep your friends and family's data safe. As part of PSII, the Detection and Response Infrastructure organization is responsible for building the infrastructure, systems, and tooling needed to protect Facebook. Primarily, our focus is on infrastructure that allows for detection and response to external security threats and internal abuse. These services are composed of distributed systems, data pipelines, and developer-focused products that enable various areas of Facebook to integrate with the platform. The Detection and Response Infrastructure organization is looking for an experienced manager who will lead its software engineering team.
Engineering Manager, Detection and Response Infrastructure Responsibilities
* Support, grow, and lead a high performing organization responsible for building services that stop attackers and drive detection and response measures throughout Facebook's systems
* Build systems that teams across the company rely on to secure user data, both in our backend production infrastructure and across our family of products
* Help define Facebook's global security priorities, with a focus on helping the company make it more difficult for attackers to compromise its products and infrastructure
* Manage the best software engineering managers and engineers in the world, including helping to hire and grow the team
* Support performance management process to recognize high performance and support those who are struggling
* Provide technical guidance and mentoring to the engineers on the team
* advocate for the teams technical interests and needs
* Develop strong relationships and work cross-functionally with many partners across organizations and functions, and as a result, increase the impact of the teams work
* Work closely with engineering leaders across the company to help them prioritize security issues in their products and drive adoption of the systems the team builds
Minimum Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience building, leading, and managing software engineering teams within an engineering organization
* Demonstrated experience working with many cross functional partners and managing programs that require management team support and buy-in
* Experience providing technical leadership and guidance, and thinking strategically and analytically to solve problems
* BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working across software engineering and security operations or software engineering in collaboration with security operations teams to drive security measures
