Position Description: The Market Analyst is responsible for collecting and interpreting market data, tracking industry/market dynamics, preparing reports and making recommendations to Cornings Emerging Innovations Group (EIG) programs based upon the research findings. The analyst will also assist in the preparation of presentation materials for strategic planning, commercial and technology organizations. Essential
Duties and Responsibilities
Identify sources of credible information including data vendors and consulting companies
Search industry reports, company financial reports and announcements.
Manage the interface with external consultants and data vendors
Conduct in-depth data analyses to understand market size, trends, and segmentation using traditional and advanced methods
Curate and publish daily newsletters with articles relevant to emerging innovation programs
Present your work and answer questions in a way that instills confidence
Prepare clear and succinct executive presentations and material for internal and external communications
Author and publish market reports and industry alerts
Track the performance of key value chain players and publish summary reports
Qualifications Education
Bachelors degree in engineering, economics or business with excellent performance
MBA is a plus
Experience and Skills
Excellent written and oral communication skills, former technical writing experience would be a plus
Self-starter with initiative to identify needs, recommend solutions and procedures, organize work and follow through to completion
Flexible, high performance individual contributor and team player
Strong organization skills and ability to communicate at all levels of the organization
Strong analytical skills, statistical analysis and affinity for process rigor
Strong computer skills in Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Ability to multi-task, take initiative and handle urgent requests on short notice
Manage work details accurately and efficiently
Experience managing external consultants to deliver to objectives, manage scope, budget and deliver to spec and on time.
