The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices as well as online and digital channels.

This Counsel 3 role will become a member of the Consumer Bankruptcy, FCRA, and SCRA team within the Consumer Lending Division.

Required Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience as a practicing attorney
* Active State Bar membership

Desired Qualifications
* Ability to analyze legal and regulatory issues in area of practice and provide effective advice to clients on complex legal matters
* Extensive experience conducting research and providing counsel and guidance regarding complex legal issues
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy skills
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work while handling multiple matters
* Ability to work effectively in a complex environment with a high degree of collaboration
* Effective in building partnerships, functioning well with project teams, and working for the success of the team

Other Desired Qualifications
* 3+ years of bankruptcy experience, preferably in consumer cases
* Consumer lending experience with a particular emphasis on bankruptcy law.
* Ability to evaluate impacts to the supported lines of business based upon changes in laws/regulations and develop response.
* An ability to develop and articulate sound proposals to key stakeholders, and an ability to influence and drive timely decision making.
* The right candidate will also be capable of providing direction, guidance, training, and resources to paralegals and/or applicable/relevant support staff

Job Expectations
* Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
