SUMMARY
Test, pull product stacks, inspect, polish, size, weigh, monitor print quality, package and palletize products such as softgels and soflets as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Inspects capsules on inspection belt, removes defects such as odd shapes, transfer marks, and leakers, scoops capsules into plastic lined and labeled box, twists bag closed and twist or cable ties bag, closing box and pushing box through box sealer.
* Logs in to tablet to track inspection rate and/or packaging OEE metric tracking.
* Sample and test product for hardness and moisture during tunnel drying process in, as assigned.
* Pull stacks after tunnel drying and testing requirements have been achieved, as needed.
* Re-inspect shallow trays after inspection has cleaned for foreign capsules, as needed.
* Separates defective capsules according to type of defect, loads into defect box, and marks type of defect on defect box during Inspection.
* Cleans all equipment, machine parts, and inspection or packaging room during a complete changeover by using brooms, mops, compressed air, detergent, towels, 70% IPA and purified water.
* Clears packaging room and equipment at changeover of previous product, containers, and bags and completes appropriate paperwork.
* Performs all checks as required on batch record or SOP and documents results in appropriate record..
* Reads and adheres to workplace procedures such as SOPs, Batch Records, cGMPs, MSDS memos, employee handbook, and company bulletins.
* Troubleshoots work related problems by detecting operating problems, equipment problems, and errors to find resolution and notifying the supervisor of unresolved problems.
* Ensures continuous flow of product on the sizer equipment.
* Other business related duties as needed.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma, GED or equivalent. Minimum of 3 months manufacturing experience preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to speak and communicate sentences clearly in order to be understood. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using US and metric units of weight and volume. Ability to perform time math.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to remain standing for prolonged periods of time. Ability to use simple hand tools.
Ability to recognize and locate required information. Strong observation skills.
