Roles and Responsibilities:
* The Engineering Manager, eCommerce is expected to lead a cross functional team of developers to deliver world class solutions.
* Hire capable and motivated talent/teams that can deliver swiftly and predictably, adjusting in a safe/agile fashion to deliver solutions aligned with business needs.
* Extensive experience with developing and leading teams building web applications at scale is key to being successful in this role.
* Evaluate and contribute to solid designs, architecture, planning, solutions, code review and operations to drive excellence and lead team towards its goals.
* Employ continuous improvement methodologies, customer first, waste elimination, increased productivity, experience creating relevant KPIs.
* Collaborating with Architect and Program Managers to develop a long-term roadmap with achievable estimates; ensuring software engineering priorities are included within the roadmap.
* Likes working at a fast pace, is self-directed, and able to manage multiple concurrent competing challenges, issues and priorities.
* Help shape a cultural high bar for security, performance, reliability, and maintainability of software.
* Must articulate and be persuasive while able to listen and incorporate perspectives of others.
* Be equally comfortable taking personal ownership for a task and delegating it.
* The ideal candidate will have a passion for hiring, coaching, and guiding best-in-class engineers, while focusing on security, quality, and performance.
Qualifications:
* Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent degree.
* 12 + years of web-based software application development & technical leadership.
* 5+ years of technical team leadership or 3+ years of Technical people manager.
* Mastery of eCommerce web applications, Databases and cloud technologies, preferably Java, AWS, Kubernetes.
* Experience delivering using Java, Spring, Microservices and DevOps would be a huge plus.
* Mastery of software development practices, DevOps, Agile Methodology, Unit testing, automated testing and CI/CD.
* Deep knowledge of Scrum/Safe/Agile methodologies, proficient with tools such as GIT, JIRA and Confluence.
