Underwriter 1

We will Count on you to:

* Classify and determine acceptable insurance risk for various professions by following specified carrier guidelines and applying critical thinking skills
* Provide knowledgeable insurance information direct to customers or to client facing staff by phone and through written correspondence
* Request additional information from the applicant/insured if adverse information is disclosed or information is missing in order to make a decision
* Maintain business standards within the department
* Ensure that all regulatory, compliance and transparency requirements are met and complies with all internal policies and procedures

What you need to have:

* High School Diploma
* Property & Casualty License (If you do not already have the P&C License, you must obtain it within 45 days of hire)
* Sales Experience or call center counsellor experience preferred
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Proficient MS Office knowledge

* 3+ years of Underwriting experience
* Bachelors or Post-Secondary degree
* Strong attention to detail
* Ability to adapt well to changing priorities
* Ability to work in a team environment
