Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

* Independently researches and resolves witten and verbal correspondence for assigned suppliers, codes, batches and enters/uploads transactions into all AP systems for payment
* Processes any necessary adjusting entries for assigned suppliers, including entering the adjustments (debit memos, disallowed discounts, proof of deliveries, etc.) and obtaining the necessary approvals for each adjustment.
* Works with the appropriate functional areas (distribution centers, merchandising, Inventory management, etc.) to resolve complex issues and support company initiatives as needed.
* Completes special projects/duties, such as processing and uploading files including dealer rebate payments, supplier allowances and wire payments. Perform payment runs, edit entry journals and balance daily interface files.
* Verifies that invoices are paid for assigned suppliers. Matches invoices to receiving documents, works with distribution centers to confirm receipts and verifies that appropriate approvals are included.
* Understands and demonstrates thorough comprehension of Essendant's Values.
* Performs and assists AP Management Team with other projects or duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge Required:

* Proficient Excel skills to review statements and reconciliations with the ability to perform required analysis as needed by Vendors or AP Management.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word to communicate to internal and external customers.
* Excellent problem solving skills to gather and analyze information data to identify issues.
* Excellent organizational skills with ability to multitask and prioritize.
* Excellent communication skills; written and verbal to assist other functions within the vendor supply chain.
* Strong customer service skills and attention to detail.

Education and Experience:

* High school diploma or equivalent, Associate Degree preferred
* Minimum of 4 years of applicable work experience required, 5 years preferred.
