Job Description

Rapid Hardware Solutions (RHS) is chartered to deliver agile services. We bridge across Operations and Engineering, providing solutions through the execution of quick-turn design, procurement, manufacturing and environmental test services.
RHS is skilled in special test equipment, program trainers, environmental test and cooling systems mechanical design. We utilize Pro/Engineer and Common Product Data Management (PDM) with tailored release processes for maximum cross-use and flexibility.
RHS executes prototyping and high-mix/low-rate procurement and fabrication activities with a focus on in-house electro-mechanical packaging, support equipment and liquid cooling systems integration, and partner with outside suppliers to satisfy all demands. We strive to minimize cycle times and provide best value through the utilization of dynamic and agile processes.

This position is for a Mechanical Engineer to support the Program Trainers Section.

Responsibilities include:

This position will require interfacing with other mechanical engineers, designers, and structural / thermal analysts, as well as engineers from other disciplines, along with line and program management and Customers.
- Executing as part of a small team during product development, drawing generation, drawing release, and drawing change incorporation to meet a set of requirements.
- Creating documents per the Raytheon Missile Defense guidelines, and releasing them in the Product Data Management (PDM) system.
- Utilize CREO CAD tool for modeling and documentation creation
- Leading the effort to ensure procurement and build processes are executed to the programs schedule
- Providing support to questions and issues as they arise during both procurement and build (both internally to Raytheon and with suppliers) and resolving issues with the documentation via Change Requests
- Support or lead installation at customer sites (Domestic and International)

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date. Except in rare circumstances, only U.S. Citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

This position can be Salary Grade G07 or G08 based on the candidate's qualifications as they relate to the skills, experience and responsibility requirements for the position

Required Skills:

* Minimum of 2 years of engineering related experience in the area of design and manufacturing
* Ability to interface with other engineering disciplines, non-technical disciplines and suppliers to resolve technical issues
* Support quick turn design to meet stringent program schedules
* Capable of troubleshoot issues quickly, solving complex problems, sharing knowledge and documenting work
* Experience in solid modeling tools such as Pro/Engineer, Solidworks or similar tool
* Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
* Self-motivated with effective oral and written communication skills
* Detail oriented with strong coordination skills
* Ability to work in a team environment
* Willingness to travel both Domestically and Internationally
* Understanding of Design for Manufacturability (DFMA)

Desired Skills:

* Experienced in Geometric Dimension & Tolerance
* Experience with technical and cost proposal development
* Working knowledge of military and commercial design, materials, and process specifications
* Understanding of the product development lifecycle models and program lifecycle modes
* Ability to resolve technical issues resulting from manufacturing or supplier inquiries
* Solid understanding of configuration management practices
* Experience with earned value management and reporting of task metrics and analysis
* Experience using CREO CAD design and documentation tools
* Experience with Windchill PDM or similar product data management tool

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
